Letter #4 Our weekend on Isla Mujeres 9/10/21
Aqui estoy otra ves!! Como estan todos? Oh no- wait a minute! I forgot who I was talking to!! I am getting so used to speaking Spanish all the time here in Cancun—but you are mis amigos that speak English!
So on Friday the 9th of September, after spending 4 hours at the immigration office, Papa Ben and Grammie Tammie took a taxi from the mission office to catch the Ferry to Isla Mujeres. They had their suitcases packed and were ready for a fun weekend! Last time they went to Isla Mujeres it cost them $40 round trip for the two of them. This time it was only $15 round trip for the two of them! All because they now have a temporary “green card”. They decided it was worth the 4 hour wait to get that savings!!
Here they are at the “Isla Mujeres” sign! Every vacation place in Mexico has a sign like this! One day they will get up early and I will take a picture of them at the Cancun sign. If you don’t get up early you will have to stand in a long line in the heat!
Here is the back side of the hotel they stayed in. It was very cute and beachy!
They had a simple but nice room
With a very nice view!
This is a huge iguana statue! They told me I had to take a picture of them! Some of their grandkids LOVE iguanas!
Here is the little area that you stop at and pay $1.50 each to hike out to the Mayan Temple ruin. The views were so Bonita and they saw a real iguana on the way! This little store had Icee’s so they planned to get one when they were done with their hike!
Here they are at the temple site! There was not much left of it—but it was right at the edge with ocean views all around it!
On Sunday they got up early to go over their talks. They packed up their suitcases, said goodbye to their fun little golf cart and got a taxi to take them to church. They were nervous to give talks in Spanish. Once they got there they didn’t feel nervous anymore. The people were so nice! The Presidente de la Rama (branch president) took these pictures on them speaking. After the meetings they visited with the people who were there and then they got a taxi to take them to the Ferry so they could head back to Cancun. It was a very nice weekend!!

Absolutely Amazing. I'll bet you guys are great missioneros!
